what we do

In many communities, girls face significant barriers to education due to poverty, early marriage, and social norms

Education for All

Despite progress in Tanzania’s education sector, challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, lack of resources, and financial barriers continue to hinder access to quality education. ELF addresses these issues by:

  • Providing scholarships and grants to marginalized communities, especially girls and women.

  • Supporting schools with infrastructure development, learning materials, and teacher training.

  • Advocating for policies that promote inclusive and equitable education.

Empowering Girls and Women Through Education

In many communities, girls face significant barriers to education due to poverty, early marriage, and social norms. ELF works to:

Train women as mentors to advocate for girls’ education

Offer financial assistance to families, ensuring more girls stay in school.

Integrate literacy and vocational training to empower women economically.

Conflict Resolution and Peacebuilding

Traditional mechanisms for conflict resolution in Tanzania have weakened, leading to prolonged disputes, particularly between farmers and pastoralists. ELF seeks to revive and strengthen these systems by:

  • Promoting mediation, arbitration, and dialogue for local conflicts.

  • Working with communities and authorities to develop sustainable conflict resolution strategies.

  • Training and engaging retired diplomats and experts in peace-building initiatives.

Regional Conflict Resolution and Mediation

Africa faces persistent conflicts in various regions, affecting stability and development. ELF supports peace efforts by:

  • Assisting international and regional stakeholders in conflict resolution strategies.

  • Advocating for diplomatic interventions and policy-driven peace initiatives.

  • Promoting community-driven peacebuilding efforts in conflict-prone areas.
